Hello, I'm Kelly Pryde

I am a coach, behavioral neuroscientist, and meditation teacher who specializes in coaching gifted/2e adults and youth, and people struggling with intensity and sensitivity.

Clients work with me to address unsupported and misunderstood intensity that is affecting their - and often their family's - ability to live and relate well. Most often they want to better understand intensity and how to support it in more effective ways.

My coaching and teaching are grounded in this question:

How can we understand our unique wiring and learn to support ourselves and our loved ones in ways that enable us to live more skillfully and meaningfully.

My (Non-Linear) Journey

For as long as I can remember, I have had an insatiable drive toward learning, personal growth, creativity, teaching, and supporting others. This drive led to a non-linear path of study and work, including 10 years of higher education where I studied dance, kinesiology, education, human development, psychology, and neuroscience. After receiving a PhD in neuropsychology and working for many years conducting psychological assessments and consultations, I decided to branch out into different ways of supporting others.

Since then, I have worked in education, business, entrepreneurship, mediation, and coaching. I also authored a (non-gifted specific) book entitled, Reinventing Mom: Seven Pathways to Becoming the Mom and Woman You Are Meant to Be, which focuses on supporting overwhelmed mothers to live with more energy, wisdom, and joy.

In 2015, I began weaving together the insights of neuroscience and the psychology of intensity and giftedness/twice-exceptionality with the practices of mindfulness. Experiencing the transformative effects of mindfulness in my own life and in the lives of many gifted and 2e peers, I began to realize its potential for helping others not only support their intensities and overwhelm, but also live in a way that is deeply sustainable, compassionate, and meaningful ― for themselves and their loved ones.

Which Brings Me Here

In coaching, mentoring & consulting, I help adolescents, young adults and parents understand and live well with the unique needs that are inherent to life with intensity.  I provide resources for understanding intensity, giftedness, as well as twice-exceptionality along with strategies for supporting intense emotions, sensitivities, communication, school and relational challenges. Fostering personal strengths, authenticity, and connectedness are at the heart of all of my coaching work. My methods include dialogue, psychoeducation, journaling, mindfulness, and body-centered approaches.

In January 2019, I launched a mindfulness-based initiative called the Gifted Mindfulness Collective that offers courses, mentoring, community, and creative projects to help gifted and 2e persons feel at home in their unique minds and connect with others in more skillful, authentic ways. More recently, our Community of Practice has focused on supporting gifted and 2e women embody new ways of being outside of patriarchal and neuronormative systems.
